I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
VISIONALITY stands in unwavering solidarity with immigrant communities and the thousands of people and nonprofits working every day to serve, support, and advocate for them. The ongoing attacks on immigrant communities through unjust detentions, disregard for due process, raids in homes, schools and workplaces, and efforts to militarize public spaces are wrong and dangerous.
Protest is a cornerstone of democracy. It’s a fundamental American right and one of our most powerful traditions. VISIONALITY applauds the leaders standing up to federal overreach and stepping out to protect our most vulnerable neighbors.
Everyone deserves to live with dignity, safety, and opportunity. Everyone.
California’s nonprofit sector has always shown up in times of crisis—and we remain ready to provide the support, resources, and services our communities rely on.
“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
